We are new to the rental game so apologies if this has been asked before!
We have an agent (full maintenance as we live abroad) and last week (14/02) our new tenants picked up the keys from the agent without signing the tenancy agreement and they still have not been asked to sign it! Could anyone tell me how we stand legally, I have searched online and read the agreement but there is nothing in it to say the agreement should be signed before handing over the keys!  We have a number of other problems with the agent so we are planning on contacting a solicitor.  Any advise would be great. I am an agent and would be negligent if I gave keys to tenants without a signed tenancy agreement. See your solicitor as soon as possible.

Thank you for your advise.  After I typed this I emailed a solicitor, I have just got his reply and he will look into for me.
