Hello all!!!
I have recently had the boiler repaired in a house i rent out & as I know it's old I'm aware that it may be on it's last legs. As I don't have funds available to replace it just now unless really necassary I am wondering what exactly are my obligations if the worst happens & it needs replacing in the middle of winter. Would I be obliged to rehouse tenants while the work was being done?? the boiler is more thsan 15 years old so doen't look like it's insurable
any advice welcome
thanks
Marie

:)hi you could try British gas they do a landlords boiler cover..
what they tend to do is look is sign you up. then service and check boiler,
if they think its too old they will not cover you worth a try .. called homecare.
another is do nothing wait for it to go wrong, like you say may have complaints
from tenants. ,there is a company on tv.. help. link uk how will install boiler.
you can pay back each month, can work out a little dear over long term, its like
a finance agreement,. dependant on what type of boiler you have around 20 month for ten years.
also british gas will give you quote for new boiler. free for survey.. think with that one interest free
the way I did mine was get three quotes from gas safe installers , worked out a lot cheaper than british gas quoted. but means paying up front.

...alternatively if your tenant is in receipt of the qualifying benefits you may be able to get the boiler replaced under a government energy efficiency scheme.
