Hi, I bought a property where I inherited an existing insurance claim, not a massive issue, but whilst the work is being carried out (bathroom in a one bathroom flat), if the tenants cannot use the bathroom, what are my responsibilities as a landlady.  Do I need to re-home them for the time they can't use the bathroom?  Do they just have to wait it out for a few days and not use the bath/shower till the work is finished and dried? I'm not sure what I have to do.  Any advice would be gratefully received.  Many thanks

Are you on the receiving-end of a demand for alternative accommodation? Usually you would negotiate something like this directly with your Tenants - reasonable people would probably be able to handle the inconvenience, especially if they are provided an incentive, and as long as they get a working toilet at the end of each day, which is usually possible for a Plumber to achieve (I mean, when I've had entire bathrooms out, they've always managed).
