 My tenant has not paid rent since August the council pay it, I moved and although they had all of my details they never contacted me.
I called to updated my details but they claimed they did not have any of my details lies lies lies, the tenant has had her kids removed and is under the care of social services so they know damm well where she is living!
I'm going out of my mind, we were forced to serve notice and did so on 10th December 13 two months and ending on 14 February.
On 28th January I received a call from a woman whom I assume was helping her case, she told me she would call me back she never did.
I call and spoke to her at the Housing advice Centre today, spoke to the same woman and she told me she could not get hold of my tenants social worker but phone me back...did she ever No.
I'm in dispute with the council over the back dated rent.
Help please I'm in debt now I can't pay my mortgage my son is homeless What can I do I so depressed.

Try and arrange a "team" meeting.

Carry out your eviction properly.

Speak to CAB / Anyone at the council / The tenant.

You need to know these people are so buzy, stressed doing a thankless job with little reward and appreciation, them not returning your call is not personal, just keep phoning them yourself, keep calling, every hour if you have too. If you are depressed go and see the Doctor, get some therapy on the NHS, you phone the doctor till you get an appointment.

Keep looking after your son, obviously, it will be all right, just don't give in!

Speak to your mortgage company, see if they can give you a payment holiday ( provided they know you have let the place out!!!!)

That is so sweet and helpful it made me cry, I am trying to get my money back from the council I'm on stage two of my complaint.
I spoke to this woman whom is dealing with my tenants case she told me she would call me back that was yesterday.
I'm going crazy I live 3 hours drive from my property I have got to take the day off work and to go down there for nothing again well I just don't know

Update spoke to council case woman she hung up on me she was so unhelpful won't tell me if they are rehoming her won't help me and I've given up !
I'll play them at there now game now....let them chase me DSS NEVER AGAIN BE WARNED OUT THERE!

She is still there I'm still not getting any rent and had call from her team to say they cannot get hold of her so I told them I live 300 miles away what do they expect me to do!
I have now gone to the court for eviction

You are taking the steps you need too, but it's not quick enough.

No advice can help with that, its the bureaucracy we live in.

Don't stress, it will all be all right in the end.

So if I'm doing the right thing then what steps can I take to recover my rent money ? It's the council that owes it to me not my tenant I am also in despite with the council they state  t takes them no longer than 20 days well it's been Well over that!!!
