Can anybody recommend me a good insurer for DSS receiptants, most of the household names don't seem to be offering cover

The insurers know it's at the discretion of the tenant if they pay rent with the money give or spend it on going out/Christmas and that the T's have nothing to chase when rent isn't forthcoming.

Aye I know I mean i'm looking for landlord's insurance and the household name providers won't supply cover so I am wondering if anyone has dealings with the lesser known companies that are willing to. Rent isn't an issue as I will be paid directly from council.

Ah, I thought you meant rent insurance!

Best speak to a broker?  Heard Towergate banded around alot, but never used myself.

I would always recommend a Broker too, and I don't like paying for useless services. I tell him what I'd like and he gives me options, and a recommendation. Whenever my insurance is due the Broker reminds me and sets up something appropriate. Sometimes he says "just renew", sometimes he suggests we check the market again. He even helped me through a big claim for a boiler failure... around £1,500. I think there's value in a Broker.
