Hi, my property (2 stories, 4 studios) with installed Velux smoke vent (AOV) on the staircase was visited by BC lately, she asks me to provide servicing certificate. Google search did not return a single company advertising price (at least approximately), unlike gas electrics and so on. I wonder if anyone of you came across such matter? or perhaps know someone servicing AOVs with a rough fixed price. The property in question is in Croydon.

Hi, I rang a few companies... inc COLT literally all of them require assessments of equipment, contracts, site visits... it's quite overwhelming... like asking an electrician for a new socket in the bedroom and having him visiting, assessing in order to get simple "£150 per point sir". I am talking about a simple basic AOV setup. There is no problem establishing a similar service costs relating to fire alarms or electrical periodic checks.... all over the net.... £99+VAT 1 bed, £149+ 3bed and so on.
There must be someone... landlord having a motorized skylight installer who did one-off service able to give the name of company and aprox cost.

What was the result of this? I have a similiar need with a smoke vent with two flats, it's been installed but not certificated, and I will need a a company to maintain and service. Where are you based and what company have you used at what cost?
