Hi all

I have a tenant who has been spoken to already about a family member, non-resident at address, who was fixing cars at address of property I rent out to tenant.  Complaints had been made to me from people on the street.  Now I've had a letter from the planning dept at the local council advising me of a complaint about unauthorised and unlicensed vehicle scrap business taking place at the property. 

I will be phoning the council tomorrow in response, but just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and just wondering, really, why council are coming at me with this, not direct to tenant?

Any help/advice most appreciated.

Like all Councils... they are under the misguided impression the Tenant is your pet and you're completely responsible for them. A joke, isn't it? Sad thing is... they have powers.
