Thinking of leaving NLA: should I stay or should I go?

I have been a member of the National Landlords' Association for several years and my membership is up for renewal shortly.  I am thinking of not bothering to renew, because it has become increasingly bureaucratic, uncaring and distant from its members.  It's advice line is complete rubbish, as is its customer service and membership support. Its leadership seem to want to become politicians rather than actually support the members in practical ways.  The local representatives, especially in London, give the impression that they really don't care about anyone but themselves.

Is anyone else as disillusioned with the NLA? And are there other organisations worth joining instead? For example, has anyone any experience (positive or negative) of the Residential; Landlords' Association (RLA).

Never been illusioned (sic) by the NLA.

Isn't it all just a big con?

Silver Bear

You're probably right.

Have you had any experience of the RLA? I'd be interested to hear about them - for comparison.

I have also left them because they give incorrect legal advice a number of times very worrying if you don't know
