Hello
Some years ago my tenants left one month after AST expired, using deposit for that last month's rent.

They left neither Email nor forwarding address.

They stole and damaged property.

Since I have none of their details to complete a Statutory declaration, I am unable to claim the deposit.

Any advice on this please?.

If the deposit is held in a scheme then it would require their details so are they not still on the scheme's system?

Maybe things have changed,but when I had this happen years ago I was able to get the money paid to me after a certain time had passed.I think it was around 6 months or so,certainly not years.I had to show that efforts to contact him had failed.
