Hi could someone let me know if this is the correct procedure to end a tenancy please.  I asked an estate agent to find me a tenant for my flat, they did and as far as I was concerned that was where their service ended, I collect the rent and deal with any problems.  Last night I received a phone call from estate agent to say that the tenant has given them notice and they intend to move out on the 15th November and the estate agent has kindly offered to re list my flat for rent!  This morning I have an email from estate agent saying pretty much the same thing and they have terminated their tenancy as from the 15th November.  Do they have any right to terminate the tenancy?  The tenant should have written to me and given me a months notice.  The tenancy was for one year with a clause to end in six months, with a months notice given, any advice would be appreciated as I do feel a bit cheesed off with the estate agents high handed ness

Don't you sign contracts for things like this? Protect yourself with clearly written expectations always!
