Renting Scotland mailed me this week to warn me abut the new private residential tenancy:

QuoteOn 1 December 2017 a new type of tenancy will come into force, called the private residential tenancy, this will replace assured and short assured tenancy agreements for all new tenancies.

If, like me, you're affected you can find more information here although there's some bits missing, in particular no sign of the model private residential tenancy that the Scottish Government are allegedly going to publish.

And with wonderful timing I'm going to have a property come vacant just in time to be one of the guinea pigs for all this. Ho hum.

Has anyone else heard any more about this yet?

Hi you will find the information here
https://beta.gov.scot/policies/private-renting/private-tenancy-reform/
It gives you all the details as a landlord, and the tenants. Notice to end tenancy makes a good read.

Ta. I'm working my way through that now. Although, as with the other page I found I see they're still not publishing the model tenancy agreement:

QuoteWe're currently finalising the Recommended Model Tenancy Agreement which you can use to provide your tenant with the written terms of their tenancy.

Which is a bit crap given there's less than two months until this goes live, especially as it would save me money if it was online.

Not that they've linked to them yet from the related page but I discovered while Googling about that yesterday the Scottish Government put the following online:

In each case you have to click on the "Associated downloadable documents" link on the next page to get to the point where you can open the associated PDF.
