Hello fellow landlords,

Have any of you heard about this government scheme to get a free boiler and insulation, if you have tenants in your house on benefits? I have found this article and it sounds like it could really help a lot of landlords and their tenants.

Has anyone heard of this scheme and been successful with it? I need a new boiler and have tenants on benefits so this looks like it could really help me. Would love to hear any advice on this.

If you have a let property and it needs a new boiler, the position your Tenants are in is completely irrelevant. You appear to be implying that you won't replace the boiler because they're on benefits, unless some scheme exists to help you out... which would obviously be morally wrong, and probably illegal... but I'm sure you're not.

I think you have misunderstood I am going to replace the boiler regardless I just wanted to get other landlord opinions on this.

Hi Jess,

I have used this scheme and it is genuine. It is a win win situation if you have a house, however it does not apply to landlords who have properties that are flats.

can you claim retrospectively? I didnt know about this and boiler has just gone bust and been replaced 6 weeks ago. tenant on DSS

Doubtful, it's not a wad of cash, it's a subsidy via an approved installer.

can someone who has used this scheme please explain how you claim?  and who installs it
