Hi,

Our agents, who we have used for years on an introduction only service, have just informed they're raising their charges and I just wanted some feedback on what other landlords are paying and whether the fees are excessive.

On a property twelve months ago, we paid £700 incl VAT for standard introduction with AST, inventory and deposit holding. The rent was £695pcm.

For a similar property they now want £941 incl VAT for the same service (Rental price at £725pcm). This is a rise of 35% and seems rather high to me. Any thoughts, comparisons, feedback much appreciated.

I've done Tenant Find before. You're being ripped-off. There's one property I have that suits a city-based Agency assist with Tenant Find (the rest I do myself)... the most I've paid there is £380 and £495... but that is for a rent of £1,200 and £1,250 at the respective times.

Are you sure they don't do a lot more than Tenant Find? If they do, cut it down to the bare minimum.
