Hi everyone,

I am landlord and I have something of an odd situation that I would like some advice on. I have a multi-agent agreement with a letting agent, and I also separately posted my place on gumtree. A potential tenant has contacted both the agent and responded to the gumtree advert.  She has not yet viewed the property.  Are we within our rights to proceed directly by passing the agent?

Check if you have a written agreement or letter of confirmation from the agent that clarifies whether you can find your own tenants without paying the agent. If nothing stated, it would appear that you are ok. After all it is your property, but check confimmations just in case. this is given without any responsibilty on my part.
