Hi,
A plumber went to my rented property to do a work. Now the back of the toilet is tore. The tenant said it wasn't like this, the plumber said it was like that. This is a new tenant. I went to the property 3 weeks ago, between tenancies, and it wasn't like that.
Which one should I believe?

How can anyone answer that for you?

Nobody here knows the tenant, or the plumber, or the actual state of the toilet before & after the reported problem occurred.

Just a thought for the future. We always use the same plumbers - so we know and trust them. They can always send you a photo of the completed job.  If a new contractor is attending, we try to be there to oversee the job. Sorry you have this problem.
