Hi!

I'm trying to fill the UK pages of my tax return and I'd like to have some help if it's possible.

Box 26. Loan interest and other financial costs.

there are these charges in the document that the financial advisor gave me:

* "Acting for your lender for each mortgage"??

* Mortgage application ??

Are they cost for getting the mortgage??

Box 28- Costs of services provided, including wages.
Are they speaking about the "service charge"? could be the "service charge" included as expense?

Also, when the property was vacant, I paid for the water and council tax. Can I include these charges as well?

They are usually the interest you paid on that mortgage for the year. I don't pay for mortgages (NatWest = no fees) so I don't include anything else.

No, they are talking about the costs like paying a gardener or providing laundry services and suchlike. The Service Charge is absolutely an expense, just not in that section.

I mean, a part from the interest, for the financial costs ("You can claim the costs of getting a loan or alternative finance to buy a property that you let...") are these

* "Acting for your lender for each mortgage"??

* Mortgage application ??

Can I include these 2 costs? Or is it just the interests?
