Hi
My husband's financial advisor has recommended we go for our next BTL mortgage /property jointly?
My husband works full time, I don't. My only income is from the property that I I own and rent out currently, but previously told it would be OK for myself to go alone with the income from my property.  Remortgaging my property on a BTL for another property.

I'm confused to why it should be jointly?


Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ask the Financial Advisor... that person should know their own mind. Certainly more than we can guess at. Tell us what that person says, then we can comment.

He states for capital gain tax.

OK, well that could make sense... run the numbers, run the scenarios. You can't predict the future, of course.
