Abbey National has removed the last major 100% mortgage from the market, effectively ending the era of where dangerous mortgages can't be accessed by oblivious borrowers!

Yes its gone, but i am sure if you have someone in the know, they could still find it, its all in the wording.
Is it a bad thing they have gone, i think while house prices are so high then its good.

I think Abbey was the last commercial lender to take off 100% mortgages. I'm sure there are still plenty of sub prime lenders offering crazy 100%+ mortgages.

But fag whats your go on it, in the presant climate. is it good to scrap it !

I think 100% mortgages are a good thing for any sensible being that actually has grips on their finances. Problem is, there are too many stupid people out there desperate to get onto the ladder, consequently taking these 100% mortgages, without realising they can't afford them.
