Has anybody tried buying or selling on Ebay? its another one of those addictive things can take over your life  ( or is it just me , again). Ive got an old drum machine I'm selling on there at the moment. I would have been happy with a tenner, but so far its reached £30. the auction still has 16 hrs left to finish, and its during the last hour when it gets busy. I  might even make 50 quid out of it. I find myself logging onto ebay as if I was checking my shares.   Ive got to get up into the loft and see what other junk I can flog. Great fun  :)

I'm an ebayholic. I love it.

I'm always buying and selling stuff on ebay. And I know what you mean about constantly checking  the bidding activity. Whenever I'm selling something on there, i'm constantly logging in!

I used to sell so much junk on there it was a joke. I don't really sell as much as I buy on there these days! Ebay is definately addictive :)

I've had buying and selling phases on ebay. About a year ago I had a minor obsession with buying Japanese stuff on there, 'cause its much easier than trying to buy it from Japan. At the moment I'm trying to sell a load of stuff I don't need any more, to raise some funds and unclutter the place.

Last week I flogged a printer I got for free (came as part of a bundle with a laptop purchase), for £36. Some guy started messaging me when I'd just posted it on there, saying "oh, I'll give you £15 for it ... how much do you want, everyone has a price, look there's this other printers on there so I bet you won't get much". He wanted me to take the listing down, and I reckon he was flogging the other printer!!

£36 for something that was taking up space is not to be sniffed at. It also pushed my PayPal balance well above the £50 free-withdrawal threshold, and the money is now safe and sound in my "annual bills" fund.

Gotta love making money.

It's amazing how much money people are willing to pay for items that you consider to be junk.

I guess it's true: "One man's junk is another man's treasure"

A few years ago I was just browsing few random items. I came across this item where some guy was selling his old, worn-out trainers on ebay. The title was something along the lines of, "Dirty, well worn pair of trainers. Gay/Feet fetish"

The guy was targeting homosexuals with feet fetishes. It was quite bizarre. He ended up getting £40 for the pair of trainers. He probably paid the same amount when they were brand new. It was insane.

It got me thinking- "The gay foot fetish market, aye?"

The following week I put up a super luxury bundle bonus pack of 3 sets of dirty old trainers. It was bound to make someone's year! I ended up getting £100 from selling 3 pairs of skanky ol' trainers. Unbelievable.

I don't even want to think about what the purchaser did with them :(

Raven

:) Thats got to be the funniest thing ive heard for ages  :) . As   soon as I finished reading it I went upstairs to look for my old DIY trainers. Shame theyve still got a bit of life in them yet, but now I know exactly what I'm gonna do when Ive finished with them. As they say, "sex sells"
My item reached £74.00 in the end. I'm elated.

I've been inspired, raven.

I'm going to go hunting around my house tonight, in attempt to find junk- junk that people will bid for!

I did a similar thing when I was trying to raise cash for my 15k project.

Ive just made over thirty quid on some old train set that I had gathering dust in the loft. I'm really getting to like this Ebay thing. I've become a junk predator. I look at everything as a possible earner. So far this month Ive taken over £200 Which is sitting there in my paypal account ready to be spent.

Raven, don't ever think that your wife's jewellery is too good for ebay.

Raven

Now theres a thought. I might even stick her on Ebay. " wife for sale. One owner from new. very reliable. regretful sale due to newer model. Buyer collects no garantees.

Vintage fireworks?

I've never heard anything so crazy like it before.

Is there even any money in vintage fireworks?

propertyfag

I'm thinking of starting an ebay shop...

Badger

I have some penny bangers from 1940s, cost me a fortune, i also have a wheel from the same period that is also worth a small mint in firework terms.

You'll have to find someone as crazy as you to buy that stuff!

Badger

Pfag there are loads of pyrotechnic crazed people out there, some bits and bobs exchange for lots of money
Same as anything really, if someone has an interest they will pay top dollar for it

"eBay" is a song and radio-only single by "Weird Al" Yankovic. It is a parody of "I Want It That Way" by Backstreet Boys. In it, the narrator describes how he incessantly purchases bizarre (and purportedly unneeded) items on eBay.

eBay sellers need wholesale products, to expand their business, because their initial inventory usually only by the personal items they had to lie at home.  As their eBay business grows, they find that they need a stable source of wholesale products, they can offer on eBay.

I have just done over thirty quid on an old train set that I had gathered dust in the attic. I'm really coming to this thing, like Ebay. I was an unwanted predator. I look like a potential employee. So far this month I took over 200 pounds, sitting in my PayPal account ready to use.
