I hate stamp duty. I can't believe it's so much.

What did the article mean by:

QuoteHalf of all first-time homebuyers and around two-fifths of all homebuyers will pay no Stamp Duty Land Tax this year," a Treasury spokesman said

Is that because people will buy under the threashold or because the government are introducing a new scheme?

It's a bit of a confusing article. All I know is stamp duty is a load of crap.

I think all first-time buyers should be exempt from paying stamp duty or at least raise the threshold way over £125k.
