Here are the best deals on the market at the moment...

Apparently tracker mortgages are the way forward, because the base rate has been dropping, but a lot of lenders seem to be going the opposite way. Of course, with a tracker option, the lender has to follow the baserate. Rumour has it that the base rate certainly won't be increasing anytime soon...you do the math!

Trackers do seem to be the way to go -

I was actually looking at the HSBC lifetime tracker mortgage this week - seems quite a good deal with no redemption fees and you can over and under pay throughout the mortgage.

Yeah, I was looking at the same deal! I'm for sure going to be watching tracker mortgages closely. Thing is, a lot of lenders may start to take them off the market as it's likely that the base rate will keep dropping...Have to get in there quickly.

Is it just me or does anyone else think its total w@nk that the banks all put their rates up when the BoE rate goes up, but when the BoE rate goes down they say "LIBOR! LIBOR!!" and keep the rates high.

This entire current problem is entirely bank made. I wish Gordon would come down on them like a tonne of bricks, and do something to them that really made them shape up and understand that they must never do this again.

Unfortunately I'm not sure Gordon is really the man for that job.
